   When you require your floor to meet DIN, 1) Shock absorption (cushion); 2) Deflection (how much give); 3) Deflective Indentation (that same 'give' available next to an area already under load); 4) Friction (slip); 5) Ball Bounce (90%) minimum.   In other words, the number is low and there is more to life than basketball, but for Ball Bounce one should insist on 95, 6, 7% return when you are thinking basketball...
Friction, all wood floor provide optimal slip (keep it clean to keep it optimal)...
Deflective indentation means player two gets the same cushioned flooring as player one running, jumping or landing...
Deflection's where the floor gives/ indents/ flexes a certain amount to insure the mechanics of the human body...
Shock absorption reduces impact throughout the body.

       There are two different test using DIN.
             ~DIN~     is the sum of certain tests in which the test spots average out to meet the criteria.
             ~DIN 2001~     requires every test point to meet the criteria.
